Sent on Behalf of Superintendent Donald Fennoy - March 13th Update

From the School District

Sent on Behalf of Superintendent Donald Fennoy

Dear Parents and Staff,

During today’s daily update, I would like to begin by underscoring the importance of disseminating accurate and timely information as it relates to the potential transmission of the Coronavirus within our school community.

It is critical that you only trust messaging that originates directly from The School District of Palm Beach County, the Florida Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control or other reputable agencies.

Numerous rumors and unfounded claims are circulating throughout our campuses and on social media. I assure you that any decisions that impact you directly will be conveyed to you promptly.

As I shared with you previously, The School District has an established, dedicated Coronavirus website which is updated continually. You will find updates, resources, and other valuable information on that site.
A
dditionally, effective tomorrow morning, The District will launch a Coronavirus Information Hotline. Representatives will take your calls from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Representatives will be available in English, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole. The number for the School District’s Hotline is (561) 969-5840. This Hotline is for school-related Coronavirus questions.

If you have a question that is better suited for a representative of the Florida Department of Health, please call the FDOH Hotline. That number is (866) 779-6121. It is open 24/7.

As a reminder, The School District of Palm Beach County has NO known cases of Coronavirus on any of our District-operated campuses. All schools remain open and are operating as normal. Enhanced cleaning measures continue in our schools. Our buses are also being sanitized.

While out-of-state, District-sponsored field trips have been canceled for students and staff, in-state travel is still scheduled. You will be updated immediately if there are any additional changes. Athletics and after school, extra-curricular activities, are still planned.

Thank you for your continued support of the School District of Palm Beach County.

Respectfully,
Dr. Donald E. Fennoy II
Superintendent School District of Palm Beach County
